MAP Sales & Marketing are actively searching for a senior level Sales Manager to join Finning, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer



Finning sell and provide parts and service for equipment and engines to customers in various industries, including Construction, Oil and Gas, Marine, Mining and many others.

Finning employ over 10,000 people across the world, with three of their major headquarters in Canada, UK, and South America. It is Finning UK & Ireland, headquartered in Cannock, Staffordshire, who have this exciting opportunity to join their Oil and Gas Department.

A big part of Finning’s activities within the Oil and Gas industry is providing highly technical solutions to major Oil and Gas Operators, Contractors and EPC companies in the UK.

They have the expertise in supplying and servicing an array of engines, generators, transmissions, pumps and other bespoke solutions for the harshest and most safety critical environments.



This particular Sales Manager position is a highly technical sales role that will involve both new client sales and key account management. Home based with regular travel, you will be responsible for the sales of Caterpillar, MAK, and EMD based new equipment solutions for power generation, pumping, and process applications both onshore and offshore.

This position is more than just selling a diesel generator or engine to a customer. It requires someone with a highly technical engineering background and mindset to manage the customer’s requirements, being able to provide a full solution and complete kit around the engine.  This can involve an array of products including silencers, gas coolers, electrical switchgear and components, along with ATEX equipment within Zones 1 and 2.

This is a leadership role and will form part of the Oil & Gas segment management team helping guide the segment through change, increasing focus on customer loyalty, ROIC, safety, EBIT and Gross Margin.

This is a key position within the Finning business playing a big part in the strategic growth and development of their Oil and Gas business, working closely with Caterpillar.   • An engineering qualification, preferably at degree level
  • A track record selling diesel solutions/equipment into the Oil and Gas industry
  • Relevant mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge
  • Experienced in pre-qualification stages involving FEED studies
  • Strong ability within account and key stakeholder management
  • A leader who has the desire to empower and develop teams
